Week of 12/13 - 12/19

Lots to celebrate this week! Mommy's birthday on Wednesday, Nana's birthday on Thursday, and Daddy being off of work for 10 days starting Saturday! We're working on getting ready to leave for MN on Monday. Packing for 4 is alot of work.

I had a wonderful day with my kids on Wednesday-both gave me the best present they could and behaved very well all day. We ran a couple of errands and just relaxed at home together. Daddy came home and we had a pizza party and cupcakes. Later on in the year we'll celebrate a bit more.

We skyped with Nana + Papa to wish her a happy birthday on Thursday. We look forward to seeing them in just a few days!

Kellan also had her 15 month check-up with Dr. Wawa, and is doing very well. Growing like a week and developing right on schedule.

The weekend will consist of packing, cleaning, packing, and more packing. Also some gift wrapping and visiting with Buppa + Dat before we head out. We're also hoping to get a short visit in with the Brown's who are in town. Their daughter Caroline was born a few weeks ago and we are anxious to meet her.

Week of 12/6 - 12/12

Regardless of anything else we did this week, the most exciting was that our little sweetheart Kellan started walking! She started last week just taking a step or two, but this week she realized she could really do it and just took off. She gets a kick out of it, you can just see the pride and happiness in her face as she toddles around.

We had lunch with Mason and Norah, plus the moms, this week too. Always good to catch up with friends.

Our cookie treat this week was sugar cookies and both kids really got into it! Grayson helped cut out the shapes and Kellan ate the dough. :) Daddy also made the oreo cookie truffles, otherwise known as 'pete's balls'. So many yummy treats around this place...good thing I'm running everyday!

Saturday was Buppa's birthday so we had him over for dinner. The sugar cookies needed icing and decorating so he helped the kids do that. Lots of finger licking fun!

Week of 11/29 - 12/5

Since this week would mark our entrance into December I thought it appropriate to start some Christmas cookie making. Daddy had an afternoon off during the week so we did pretzel rods coated w/ chocolate and sprinkles. Mmmm, super good!

We played with the Telman's on Wednesday and made gingerbread houses! Messy and nowhere near picture-perfect, but silly and fun.

Friday we met up with Miss Kara, and the kiddos again, at Breton Village Mall for the holiday train display. The kids ran, ran, and ran some more. They also met Santa and shared their wish lists.

The weekend wrapped up with some alone time for Mommy and Daddy, while Buppa + Dat watched the kids. And Mommy started training...for what particular race we're not yet sure. But running feels good again-especially with all the holiday treats around!

Week of 11/22 - 11/28

This week finally marked the end of my busy work season, but not until Sunday. I was thankful to have an end in sight and be able to focus on the holiday season for our family.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our small group on Wednesday night at the Wright's, and had a great time eating, playing games, and laughing. Love those small group peeps!

Thursday was spent at the Buurstra's. The food was delicious and we went home stuffed. The next day we hosted Tim, Paige, and Maddy for brunch and our time together was short but sweet.

I was able to thoroughly enjoy myself on Saturday with a facial and massage. A much needed respite after many stressful months with the work/home balance.

On Sunday, we put up the Christmas tree and decorated the house. The kids had a blast, and so did we just watching them! Kellan was especially intrigued and I was more than sure that she would take the tree down as fast as we put it up. We listed to music and just enjoyed the family time together.

Week of 11/15 - 11/21

This is becoming too redundant...another quiet but busy week. More work for me, but this weekend is marking the end of the holiday rush for me-only two more projects...thank goodness!

Daddy was gone this weekend on the first annual Buurstra men (plus in-law Aaron) get-away. We missed him terribly but had fun here too. The kids were both angels all weekend which was such a blessing. It's so much easier being the only parent when they are both good. When they're being naughty it's so nice to have the reinforcement of the other parent.

Daddy comes home midday tomorrow and we can't wait!

Week of 11/8 - 11/14

Another quiet but busy week. Lots of work for Mommy and no playdates...when will it end??!!

11/1 - 11/7

This week was both quiet and busy. We didn't have any playdates except for small group coming over Friday, and I had to work alot. Boo.
